Sketches

Exercise 2

Mammoth Tank:
I have briefly drawn out the primitive shapes of the tank at a top right angle view.

Lego Man:
First, I drew out a sketch of the lego man as a whole, then separated different parts of his body and sketched primitive shapes of the parts at a top right angle view as well.

Exercise 3 -
Prison vs Disneyland

The prison has much more ridged edges, the walls are not smooth or rounded. If I were to break down the different shapes of the prison, I could up with simple polygon shapes. The expense spent on the prisons were obviously low since not much architectural design was put into the prisons. This is understandable since prisoners are confined in a disciplined and strict area.

However, the buildings in Disneyland are made with a variety of shapes (Rounded, curvy, soft edges) which were altered and molded to the perfect design. Since Disneyland caters to mostly children, families and is a tourist attraction, its buildings has to bring a fun and happy atmosphere. In this case, Disneyland probably spent quite a sum of money on its buildings.
